Description

This Konya kilim features a central field of hexagonal motifs, each adorned with the "göz" or eye symbol, which is frequently found in Anatolia. These eye motifs are powerful talismans, intended to protect against the evil eye, ward off malevolence, and keep the household in peace.

The transitional use of orange, green, white, and magenta tones symbolizes the cycles of nature and the changing of the seasons. The contrasting colors used in the kilim's central area emphasize the energy at the core of life.

The circular geometric patterns in the border appear as stylized interpretations of the classic "ram's horn" or "fertility" motifs. These figures embody meanings such as strength, continuity, and productivity. The rhythmic repetition of the motifs gives the kilim a sense of both movement and balance.
